We’re taking a break from the updates for a major announcement! We’re currently in Hyder, Alaska (long story), and I’ll fill you in on that later, but for now, here’s the big news:
MY SISTER, MERIDITH, HAD HER BABY YESTERDAY!!
Everyone welcome Cooper Eric Jirovetz. The big man weighed in at 8 lbs, 3 oz covering 20.5 inches, and decided to pop out at 4:46 p.m.
I talked to Goose yesterday for about 3 minutes – long enough for her to tell me his name and for me to lose it and then run out of Skype credit. Great. No phone service here at the end of the road.
I have to say that this is the greatest honor of my life. I don’t really even know what to say. I had to write the name down to tell Brad yesterday so that I didn’t make a fool of myself in a bar, in Alaska, while getting Hyderized (long story, to be updated later). I could hardly leave my hotel room after she told me – I just sort of stood there and looked at my keys like they held the answer.
Mommy and baby are doing well. I haven’t had a chance to talk to Meridith or Paul, but I hope to today or tomorrow.
Love you Gooser! Congrats Paul!

Wow!! Super cool. Congrats Goose!
Honk!
Goose tried first, then your mom, finally I had to read this aloud in the hospital. All of us in tears, and of course Cooper Eric just snoozing away. Very touching. I bet you’ll be crying when you change his first poop, Uncle McNamesake.
I can barely even think about it right now. Got all teared up on the ride across customs to get breakfast. Sonofa. Need to focus. Really can’t wait to meet the big stud.
Congrats to Meridith and Paul! Welcome to the World Cooper Eric! YOU are in for a wild ride. Blessing to all. Peace.
Hadn’t had a chance to read the blog due to the wedding, so was delighted to find this big news. Love and joy to the new parents and proud uncles.
Thanks Melinda!! I’m thrilled you’re actually reading it!
Wauw!!!
